There are so many things that make living here so special. I think its down to that fact theres always something going on. The variety and quality of everything from theatre, music and dance productions held in our fantastic venues, as well as the festivals and other events means theres always something to do. In addition to a packed social life, we enjoy tranquil coast and countryside on our doorstep, excellent schools, universities and healthcare all providing a fantastic quality of life. Remy Cabella Die-hard Newcastle United fan Bill Bibbs, of Wallsend, North Tyneside, who set up the Fairs Cup Club to remember the glory days, is also seething over Nicollins insults. He said: Im in regular contact with the ex football players of the 60s and 70s who played in the Fairs Cup and the vast majority of them came from a distance. But many became adopted Geordies and the first results they look for to this day are Newcastles. That tells you something. They still say the greatest thrill of their careers was to pull on the black and white shirt and hear the roar of the dedicated fans.
